Savigno , about thirty kilometers far from Bologna, is a landmark of a wide territory of the western Bolognese Apennines, close to the province of Modena.

Savigno offers the visitor a harmonious landscape of hills, valleys, forests and streams: a land full of trails suitable for trekking and cycling, but also historical and cultural excursions.

The territory of this valley is in fact a constant surprise, with its churches, oratories, tower-houses (fortified houses built around the XV century) and old water mills.

Savigno is a must for lovers of good food and quality products.

With its many tartufini and their faithful sniffing dogs, it is considered the " Regional Capital of the Colli Bolognesi White Truffle " and is included in the national circuit of the " Truffle City ".

There are many restaurants offering the precious tuber in its infinite culinary versions and shops which sell it, but the real point of valuation takes place in the first three weekends of November, on the occasion of the " Savigno and Colli Bolognesi National White Truffle Fair ".

The products of the territory have also an extraordinary showcase in the " Market of the Good Things " (every second Sunday of the month from March to December), which allows the meeting between producers and consumers of agricultural land and it is held in conjunction with the " Market of the Old and Ancient ". Savigno gets dressed to the nines during the feast of the "Queen of May" and the " September Holidays " which end with the " San Matteo Ancient Fair ".
